About The Position

This position provides perioperative nursing care for patients, adhering to established standards and practices in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. The role involves coordinating specialty care within the endoscopy unit. There are on-call requirements for this position.

Requirements

  • BSN from an accredited school or college of nursing (or grandfathered if hired/transferred before July 1, 2022 and graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing).
  • At least 2 years in operating room nursing or 4 years in operating room surgical technology or sterile processing.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of specialty being coordinated.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to provide patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in operating room nursing preferred (OR)
  • Certification in post-anesthesia nursing preferred (PACU)

Responsibilities
