Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency
About The Position
Inova Mt Vernon Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN to join our Emergency Dept. This is a PRN, As Needed position with varying shifts, requiring a minimum of 4 shifts in a 6-week schedule. During orientation, the nurse will rotate through all shifts (Days, Mids, and Nights). Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is home to the Inova Joint Replacement Center and Inova Rehabilitation Center, both ranked among the top orthopedic and rehabilitation programs nationally. It also houses the Inova Wound Healing Center. The hospital has consistently received an "A" grade for hospital safety from The Leapfrog Group since 2014. The Veatch Family Emergency Department is a state-of-the-art facility with 35 private treatment rooms, 'fast track' rooms, improved ambulance access, new cardiac emergency rooms, and a specialized pediatric treatment area.
Requirements
- Requires a minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
- BLS from American Heart Association
- Proficient in English.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
- Proficient computer skills required.
Nice To Haves
- Strongly prefer 2 year plus of ED RN experience.
- CEN/ACLS certification desired timeline for taking the courses
- Complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
