About The Position
Wythe County Community Hospital is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities coast to coast. As a Registered Nurse (RN) joining our team, you’re embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. This role is within the Wythe County Community Hospital (WCCH) ER, a 14-bed facility with a Fast Track area accommodating up to 8 patients. The ER is a Certified Stroke Ready Facility with The Joint Commission. The ER nurse patient ratio is 1:4, and the department is staffed with Nurse Techs, Monitor Techs, and RNs. Requirements
- Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
- Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire.
- Handle with Care within one year of hire.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of previous experience in ER as a RN strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
