About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Fort Worth, a Level I Trauma Center, will deliver high-quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovations. This full-time position involves working 36 hours weekly, with three 12-hour shifts from 1 pm to 1 am. The department is a 100-bed Marion Emergency Care facility, spanning 75,000 square feet. It includes a Quick Care area for minor needs, diagnostic rooms for more extensive workups, and 22 Emergent Care rooms, including three resuscitation rooms for critical trauma cases. The ER also has a dedicated area for sexual assault victims. Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days required
  • PALS – within 90 days required
  • TNCC or ATCN – within 12 months of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire required
  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • Current ED strongly preferred - will consider ICU/PCU, Tele and Med/Surg experience
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism.
  • Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process: assesses the patient, plans the care of the patient, intervenes as appropriate, evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
  • Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
