About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Willow Park. The role is PRN II, meaning it is per diem with rotating shifts. The facility is a free-standing ED located about 20 miles west of downtown Fort Worth. The department has 10 beds and is open 24/7, providing care for a wide variety of patients from neonates to seniors with various illnesses and injuries. The role offers self-scheduling to help with work/life balance and excellent opportunities for educational and career growth, including advancement in leadership.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire required.
  • PALS – within 90 days of hire required.
  • NIHSS – within 90 days of hire required.
  • TNCC or ATCN – within 12 months of hire required.
  • ENPC – within 12 months of hire required.
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire required.
  • 1-year clinical RN nursing experience required.
  • In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

  • possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism.
  • have basic computer skills using medical management application systems.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • ED experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process: assesses the patient, plans the care of the patient, intervenes as appropriate, evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
  • Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
