About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Texas Health Willow Park, a free-standing facility. The role is PRN II/per diem with rotating shifts, requiring 3 shifts per 6-week schedule, 1 weekend shift per 6-week schedule, and 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year. The department is a 10-bed emergency department located about 20 miles west of downtown Ft. Worth, open 24/7, providing care for a wide variety of patients from neonate, pediatric, and seniors covering an array of illnesses and injuries. The role offers self-scheduling for work/life balance and opportunities for educational and career growth, including leadership advancement.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire required
  • PALS – within 90 days of hire required
  • NIHSS – within 90 days of hire required
  • TNCC or ATCN – within 12 months of hire required
  • ENPC – within 12 months of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1-year clinical RN nursing experience required
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism.
  • Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process: assesses the patient, plans the care of the patient, intervenes as appropriate, evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
