Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department – PRN, Rotating shifts Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132. Work hours: PRN/per diem, Rotating shifts, PRN II: Minimum of 3 shifts in a 6-week schedule required, 1 weekend shift per 6-week scheduled, 1 major/1 minor holiday requirement. Department Highlights: 48 bed ED; average population of 170 - 185 patients per day. MAGNET facility. Level III Trauma Center. Primary Stroke center. STEMI with PCI capabilities. Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire
  • PALS – within 90 days of hire OR ENPC – within 12 months of hire
  • TNCC – within 12 months of hire
  • NIHSS – within 6 months of hire
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program
  • Current ED experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process: assesses the patient, plans the care of the patient, intervenes as appropriate, evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
  • Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
