About The Position

The Electrophysiology Technologist will perform specialized roles within the invasive cardiovascular procedure setting. They operate specific high technology equipment and utilizes products under the direction of a qualified physician to assist with multispecialty cardiovascular procedures performed. This role is part of the Cath Lab department at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond. Requirements

  • BLS (Basic Life Support), American Heart Association (required)
  • Clinical patient care experience (required)

  • CVT (Cardiovascular Technician Certification) (preferred)

  • CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) (preferred)
  • 1 year of experience or on-the-job training in electrophysiology, aseptic techniques, and cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Performs and supports image acquisition, image processing, physiologic and/or hemodynamic data acquisition, and simple electrophysiology (EP) or 3D mapping during invasive procedures; assists nurses with patient management.
  • Assists physician operator and invasive team before, during and after invasive procedures.
  • Provides appropriate care to patients consistent with level of training.
  • Performs activities to support the service and/or departmental operation.
  • Serves, manages, and supports internal and external customers.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Maintains the laboratory and/or operating room and equipment; manage supplies first in, first out (FIFO), and supports accurate billing for procedures performed.
