About The Position

The Direct Access Screening Colonoscopy (DASC) Registered Nurse (RN) will work in the South building on the 4th floor within the Pre-surgical Testing area. This role involves scheduling patients for Direct Access Screening Colonoscopies using the DASC work queue to contact patients for screening and scheduling. A significant portion of the role includes administrative tasks and coordination with physicians and their schedules. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Endoscopy/GI experience is required.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
  • Time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., E-mail, electronic records, digital platforms etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • GI Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling patients for Direct Access Screening Colonoscopies using the DASC work queue.
  • Contacting patients to screen them and schedule appointments.
  • Performing administrative tasks.
  • Coordinating with physicians and their schedules.
  • Providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
  • Delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication.
