About The Position

The Core Flex I Registered Nurse provides expert, engaged nursing care aligned with their competencies, within an entity, including those with multiple campuses, within OSF HealthCare. The Core Flex I RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients using the nursing process. The Core Flex I RN is a highly knowledgeable, autonomous professional who demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, seamlessly to meet patient and organizational needs. The Core Flex I RN role requires advanced clinical competence, informal leadership capability, and provides safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to patients across the care continuum in diverse environments.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in nursing
  • 1 year of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired
  • Registered Nurse License in the state of Illinois
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Care Life Support certification (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in work and schedule
  • Strong clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making ability
  • Advanced assessment, analytical, and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage complex patient populations across the care continuum
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • ICU-experienced RN preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or completion within two years of hire
  • 2 years of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired
  • Participation in Clinical Ladder strongly encouraged
