Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Supervisor Stepdown
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Supervisor provides safe, competent nursing care in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy, while providing professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Patient-centered care and Service Excellence are the foundation of the role. The position focuses on caring for stroke patients on the Stepdown unit, recognizing stroke symptoms, initiating the stroke alert process, coordinating assessments and transport, and maintaining current stroke knowledge. This is a full-time position at 36 hours per week on a day shift, with full benefits and the opportunity for overtime or to cover other shifts if interested. The position is based at Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Florida.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
- Current Florida nursing license.
- Current BLS certification upon hire.
- ACLS and/or required specialty training or course completion, or obtain it within three months of employment.
- Successfully pass any pre-employment assessments required by the facility.
Nice To Haves
- One year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, competent nursing care in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
- Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
- Apply Patient Centered Care concepts and demonstrate Service Excellence standards.
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke and call a stroke alert overhead.
- Understand and communicate the stroke alert process.
- Assist the ICU nurse with telemedicine consultation, physician examination and evaluation, and transport of inpatient stroke alert patients to and from CT scan.
- Perform and document the NIHSS and bedside swallow.
- Assist with preparing patients for endovascular treatment as indicated.
- Provide care for stroke patients on the unit.
- Complete annual eight-hour online stroke training to maintain current stroke knowledge.
