This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) for the night shift. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The position requires upholding a culture of safety, continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes, and taking action as needed. The nurse may administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The role also involves pursuing professional development, completing required education, and maintaining certifications, while adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. Appropriate delegation to other healthcare professionals is expected, along with maintaining accurate, timely EHR documentation. The nurse may be required to float to other units to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles.
