This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU).

Requirements

1+ years of experience in a Critical Care Unit (CCU, ICU, CTICU, CVICU, etc.)
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required

Nice To Haves

Experience with open heart patients a plus
1+ years cardiac step-down experience preferred
Will consider Associates Degree if enrolled in an accredited BSN program
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred
New Grads hired for this role will be entered in a residency program.

Responsibilities

Recover, assess, monitor, administer medication, document progress, and manage overall care for patients who have undergone open-heart surgery
Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Cross-train between the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) and the Intermediate Care Unit
Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and their loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support and education.
