About The Position

HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Coumadin Clinic. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge to coordinate and perform hands on care to support expert, compassionate care to our cardiac patients. The Coumadin clinic manages all the patients on anticoagulation medication for all 33 providers. This includes face-to-face checks, home monitoring, outside lab results, and all phone calls regarding anticoagulation.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for RN licensure in the state of practice is required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
  • 2 years of healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform hands-on care to support expert, compassionate care to cardiac patients.
  • Manage patients on anticoagulation medication.
  • Conduct face-to-face checks.
  • Monitor home anticoagulation.
  • Review outside lab results.
  • Handle all phone calls regarding anticoagulation.
