About The Position

HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Coumadin Clinic. Ideal candidates are patient-focused, mission-driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge to coordinate and perform hands-on care to support expert, compassionate care to our cardiac patients. The Coumadin clinic manages all the patients on anticoagulation medication for all 33 providers. This includes face-to-face checks, home monitoring, outside lab results, and all phone calls regarding anticoagulation.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for RN licensure in the state of practice is required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • 2 years of healthcare experience is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform hands-on care to support expert, compassionate care to our cardiac patients.
  • Manage patients on anticoagulation medication.
  • Conduct face-to-face checks.
  • Perform home monitoring.
  • Review outside lab results.
  • Handle all phone calls regarding anticoagulation.
