The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Texas Health Dallas is a 30-bed intensive care unit specializing in advanced Cardiac and Vascular surgical procedures. Located in the Hamon Tower, our ICU units benefit from the hospital's largest expansion in 2009. Board-certified critical care physicians directly oversee patient care, with providers on the unit 24 hours a day. Critical care nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, all trained in critical care medicine, work collaboratively to provide care. Staffing is acuity-dependent, typically maintaining a 2:1 ratio. Texas Health Dallas, a Magnet-designated, full-service hospital serving the North Texas community since 1966, specializes in cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women’s services, and emergency medicine. It is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Heart Attack Center, and a designated Magnet hospital.
