About The Position
At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) delivers patient care to individuals in critical condition. This role operates within an acclaimed 22-bed Level 1 Trauma Facility unit, contributing to a burgeoning ECMO Program.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
- One or more years of ICU, Critical Care, or Step Down nursing experience
- Candidates must be able to function independently in the Cardiac ICU
- Resumes must demonstrate expertise in ICU-level patient care, as well as familiarity with open-heart procedures.
Nice To Haves
- BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- ACLS certification, support available for certification post-hire.
- Strength with ECMO is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for Critical Care Patients, conducting assessments, devising care plans, and adjusting critical drips to ensure hemodynamic stability and appropriate sedation levels.
- Attend to patients requiring advanced monitoring, heightened observation, utilization of invasive equipment, and administration of intricate medication regimens.
