About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking passionate, experienced Registered Nurses and upcoming or recent RN graduates to join their Cardiac Cath Lab team and collaborate with top medical professionals. The Cardiac Catheterization Lab unit features two procedural rooms, a hands-on, high-acuity nursing environment, and offers the opportunity to directly impact patient outcomes. Patient populations include STEMI, TAVR, Pacemakers and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs), Watchman procedures, Coronary Heart Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, Cardiogenic Shock, and Peripheral Vascular Disease.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program (candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two (2) years of acute care experience; such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Additional advanced life support certifications may be required based on unit or department specialty.
  • 30‑minute response time for call.
  • Rotating call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence‑based nursing care across the care continuum, including: Assessment, Diagnosis, Outcome identification, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation.
  • Participate in clinical decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve desired outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Practice is guided by the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
  • Management of IV medications.
  • Hemodynamic monitoring and response.
  • Pulmonary adjunct management.
  • Cath/EP lab‑specific technology.
  • Maintenance of sterile and aseptic environment.
  • Interdisciplinary communication.
  • Critical thinking in high‑acuity situations.
  • One‑to‑one patient care.
  • BLS and ACLS utilization.
