About The Position

The Sentara Heart Hospital, a 112-bed care facility, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Holding Unit. This 30-bed unit prepares and recovers patients for procedures in the Cath lab, EP lab, Minor Procedure Room, and Cardiac OR. The unit handles approximately 40-50 patients daily, with procedures including Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology procedures, Cardioversions, surgery, and ICDs/Pacemakers. The Registered Nurse is responsible for competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards include ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Virginia RN License Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible.
  • All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • 1+ years of bedside nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Telemetry -Cardiac experience preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
