The 10NT Burns and Plastics unit is a 24-bed multi-leveled unit, commonly referred to as the Burn Center. It is a comprehensive unit for all levels of burn patients, including pediatrics and adults, with 16 Med-Surg level beds and 8 ICU level beds. The unit also treats a variety of other surgical patients, including Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Urology. As one of two Burn Centers in North Carolina, it is recognized by the American Burn Association (ABA) as a verified burn center, offering state-of-the-art care, training, and resources for all burn levels. In this role, you will learn various wound care techniques, including dressing, skin grafting and maintenance, negative pressure wound vac applications, and other wound care processes. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
