Registered Nurse (RN) - AH Levine Children's Hospital - Behavioral/Medical Observation
About The Position
LCH 3K Behavioral/Medical Observation is a 22-bed observation unit that cares for children and teens with behavioral health needs requiring hospitalization. As a medical observation unit, it also cares for patients with a 1-2 day stay, including diagnoses such as IV hydration, rule out sepsis, ortho observation, and surgical observation. The staff is passionate about caring for children and teens with behavioral health needs and includes nurses with diverse backgrounds. The unit is CPI trained and certified and has championed the Disruptive Patient Star Program to address safety issues. Psychiatric technicians also assist in caring for the behavioral health population.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- At least 6 months of RN experience
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire.
