About The Position

Cottonwood Springs is a 108-bed behavioral health facility offering adult mental health and substance use treatment services. The facility includes four 24-bed units (Meadows, Sunrise, Cedars, and Prairie) and one 12-bed unit (Sunflower), specializing in depression, anxiety, psychosis, thought disorders, and substance detoxification. Cottonwood Springs fosters a trauma-informed, team-centered culture where RNs and BHTs work collaboratively and are equally valued. Requirements

  • Current Kansas or Compact State RN license
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred
  • ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred, but must have within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Assess the patient and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies
  • Oversee and supervise the shift
  • Demonstrates leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc
  • Oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team
  • Monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician
  • Follow hospital policy for medication administration
  • Consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients
  • Delivery of quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies
  • Assists/performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients
