About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Behavioral Health at Jackson Purchase Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health. The role involves providing direct patient care using the nursing process, collaborating with an interprofessional team, and ensuring high-quality outcomes in a safe, therapeutic environment. The RN will perform plan-of-care interventions, document patient care, monitor and communicate patient conditions, assist patients with daily living activities, coordinate care across disciplines, provide patient and family education, advocate for patients, and participate in performance improvement and continuing education. The position may require working other shifts/units as needed and may be assigned on-call.

Requirements

  • RN license required
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Handle With Care (HWC) preferred
  • One year of experience preferred
  • ASLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice for behavioral health patients.
  • Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes.
  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
  • Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
