Registered Nurse RN - Behavioral Health
About The Position
Prime Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Behavioral Health department, specifically serving adult males at Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time position with a day schedule, involving three 12-hour shifts per week (7a-7:30p), including rotating holidays and weekends. The role involves direct patient care, including treating patients, educating them on mental and medical conditions, providing emotional support, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and managing seclusion and restraint. RNs are also responsible for documenting patient histories, administering treatments and medications, and assisting with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. They play a crucial role in teaching patients and their families about managing illnesses, diets, exercise, and medication self-administration.
Requirements
- Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
