Requirements

  • Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.
  • Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.
  • One (1) year clinical experience in an Acute Care organization or in a Critical Care area preferred.
  • Neuro/Stroke clinical experience; preferred.
  • NIHSS certification within 1 month

Responsibilities

  • Delivering safe, high quality direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations during procedural cases in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Angio/IR Suites.
  • Addressing the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care utilizing the nursing process within the scope of practice in support of the Cardiologist, Radiologist, and/or Interventional Neurologist, for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of equipment; procedure room readiness including equipment and supplies.
  • Providing Moderate Sedation as ordered by the physician.
  • Assessing procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness and ensuring all appropriate needs of the Cath Lab/Angio/Interventional Radiology suite and/or Holding area so the team functions efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Angio/IR Suite, and/or Special Studies (which includes CT and Ultrasound procedures).
  • Monitoring and recording patient condition continuously while in the Angio/Interventional Radiology/Cardiovascular lab and Special Studies.
  • Willingness to learn and pursue new procedures related to specialty, while maintaining adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
  • Participating in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities and acting as resource for other personnel as appropriate.
