About The Position

Join Southwest Kidney Institute (SKI) and help deliver exceptional vascular care in a state-of-the-art outpatient setting. Southwest Kidney Institute (SKI), a leading provider of kidney and vascular care throughout Arizona, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team in Phoenix, AZ on a PRN basis. This position supports our vascular surgery program, caring for patients undergoing minimally invasive vascular access procedures in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years of RN clinical experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in critical care, medical-surgical nursing, procedural nursing, surgery, PACU, ICU, interventional radiology, cath lab, vascular access, or ambulatory surgery center environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience with moderate sedation and patient monitoring during procedures is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments, including intake, charting, IV starts, lab draws, and point-of-care testing.
  • Prepare patients for vascular procedures and provide ongoing clinical support throughout the patient journey.
  • Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures, including: Cardiac monitoring, Vital signs (HR, BP, O2 saturation), EKG monitoring, Pain assessments, Aldrete scoring.
  • Administer oral and IV medications, including sedation and pain medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Assist physicians and procedural staff during vascular interventions while maintaining sterile technique and radiation safety standards.
  • Support patient recovery and discharge processes, including post-sedation monitoring and education.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with narcotic inventory management and controlled substance logs.
  • Communicate with dialysis centers and care teams regarding post-procedure patient care as needed.
  • Participate in opening and closing clinical responsibilities according to ASC protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission, state, federal, and safety regulations.
