Provides and coordinates nursing care in a non-acute ambulatory, medical office, or urgent care setting in accordance with the State Board of Nursing, Nurse Practice Act, professional standards of care, state regulations, accreditation standards and Prisma Health’s philosophy, policies and procedures. This position is bonus eligible. The Registered Nurse utilizes the unique knowledge, skills, and competencies required in ambulatory care nursing practice to promote wellness, restore health, and address health-related situational problems. They assess patients’ needs and apply current ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence-based nursing practice when developing an individualized plan of care for each patient. The nurse administers prescribed medications and treatments, coordinates and documents patient care, and delegates tasks to healthcare team members. They educate patients and families, provide a compassionate environment, and serve as a role model. This role also involves attending meetings, completing compliance training, practicing safe resource use, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for their own professional development and continuing education, and may serve as a preceptor or participate in shared governance.
