More about our team Last year, Centerpoint - Winchester broke ground on an expansion for the intensive care unit (ICU). The expansion signifies a 75% increase in capacity for the ICU, adding six beds to the eight that are currently available. The new construction also includes the expansion of an ACU unit and build-out space for a new surgical suite, enabling Winchester to expand surgery as the needs of the community demand.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Associates Degree in Nursing, required
  • KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire
  • Handle With Care - within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
