Community Memorial Hospital (CMH) is a 70-bed facility serving residents of over 7 counties, including North Carolina. CMH is a Primary Stroke Center. The Acute Care unit has 54 beds serving a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics, including medical, telemetry, and surgical patients. The average nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 4, with additional support from patient care technicians, patient safety associates, unit secretaries, and cardiac monitor technicians. The Clinical Nurse I job integrates technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet patient and family needs, assisting the healthcare team with illness prevention, wellness maintenance, and comfort provision. This role provides direction, education, and begins to acquire leadership skills at the unit level. It involves delivering and documenting age-specific care based on medical orders and a multidisciplinary plan, and safely administering medications while identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions. The Clinical Nurse II job demonstrates mastery of clinical skills and applies this knowledge to a specific patient population, assisting the healthcare team with illness prevention, wellness maintenance, and comfort provision. This role recognizes and intervenes in changing patient situations, mobilizes resources for individualized patient/family needs, and provides direction, education, and leadership at the unit level. It involves delivering and documenting age-specific care based on medical orders and a multidisciplinary plan, and safely administering medications while identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions. The Clinical Nurse III job demonstrates clinical knowledge at the unit level and applies this knowledge to a specific patient population, assisting the healthcare team with illness prevention, wellness maintenance, and comfort provision. This role anticipates and intervenes appropriately in patient situations, provides direction, education, and serves as a role model. It involves delivering and documenting age-specific care based on medical orders and a multidisciplinary plan, and safely administering medications while identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
