About The Position

Baystate Health is seeking inpatient Registered Nurses for their Acute Care for Elders (ACE) unit, Daly 6A. This unit promotes 'Aging in Place' and cares for older adult patients with 39 beds, including semi-private rooms and rooms for end-of-life care. The unit offers an ACE room for socialization and activities, pet therapy, and various engagement activities. It is a supportive unit with a multidisciplinary team including a geriatrician, physical therapist, case manager, NICHE program coordinator, geriatric resource nurses, and spiritual services. This role offers opportunities for growth and learning within an academic medical center and community hospitals.

Requirements

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
• Diploma in Nursing (Required)
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
• Registered Nurse - State of Massachusetts

Responsibilities

• Provide care for the older adult patient population.
• Promote Aging in Place as the standard for elder care.
• Engage patients in activities such as movies, games, arts and crafts, and books.
• Participate in unit engagement activities like cookie decorating, reverse trunk or treat, and pumpkin painting.
