Nurses in this position float to units based on patient care needs, staffing priorities, and individual competencies. This role is designed for flexible, confident nurses who can quickly adapt to different patient populations and care environments while maintaining exceptional standards of care. Depending on experience and qualifications, Site Float Pool RNs may support a range of medical-surgical, telemetry, progressive care, post-surgical, and specialty units throughout the hospital. Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
  • Minimum one (1) year of RN experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • BSN Required. Degree will be verified. RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care, Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or other hospital-based RN experience.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in a variety of clinical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care across a variety of patient populations and clinical settings.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and evidence-based practices.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, care needs, and discharge instructions.
  • Adapt to varying patient volumes, workflows, and clinical environments while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted resource and advocate for patients, families, and fellow caregivers.
