About The Position
This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Renal Medical department at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. The position is full-time with a day shift schedule. The nurse will be responsible for learning and performing peritoneal dialysis, managing and supporting hemodialysis care, teaching and supporting families, and providing medical nursing care to both renal and non-renal patients.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
- 6 months of acute care nursing experience
Responsibilities
- Learns and performs peritoneal dialysis, providing safe treatment and monitoring patients for complications.
- Manages and supports hemodialysis care, ensuring treatments are delivered correctly and patients are closely monitored.
- Teaches and supports families, educating them on how to care for their family members and recognize signs that need medical attention.
- Provides medical nursing care to both renal and non-renal patients, using clinical skills to support a wide range of patient needs.
