About The Position

The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) is accountable for promoting high quality care through assessing, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating the total care needs of our patients/residents/clients (P/R/Cs). The RN/RPN is required to coordinate with all the departments within the facility, families and professionals associated with P/R/Cs care. The RN/RPN must promote effective communication in the facility through care given and reporting mechanisms. The RN/RPN is expected to participate in staff meetings and educational opportunities to maintain their own professional competence. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Intermediate - Interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to keep effective work relationships with clients of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
  • Ability to make decisions on patient care and coordination of equipment
  • Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)

Responsibilities
