Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is implementing minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios (mNPRs) to enhance nursing practice and quality of care. This initiative is a collaboration between the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses’ Union (BCNU), and health organizations. VCH is committed to fostering quality practice and learning environments, guided by values of caring for everyone, continuous learning, and striving for better results. This role involves practicing in accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards and a resident and family-centered care model. The nurse will use sound judgment and critical thinking in providing care to older residents in a Long Term Care setting, working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include demonstrating expertise and leadership, coordinating clinical interventions, evaluating resident outcomes, acting as a resource for the team, supporting other nursing staff, enhancing resident quality of life, consulting with healthcare providers, maintaining clinical competence, and participating in committees and research projects.
