As a PACU Registered Nurse, you provide immediate post-operative care to surgical patients. You manage airway support, monitor neurological and cardiac status, respond to complications or side effects, provide initial surgical wound care, and ensure patients remain stable during recovery. You collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams and are available for on-call coverage during select non-business hours, discussed during the interview. The role offers self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance, visible and supportive leadership, staffing support from certified nursing assistants, patient care technicians, charge nurses, and an internal RN float pool, as well as rounding with unit leaders to hear nurses’ input on patient care. You deliver patient-centered care using evidence-based practices and participate in continuous improvement. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you use the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to provide safe nursing care. You assess and monitor patients, thoroughly document changes and care provided, and educate patients and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
