About The Position
Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
- For new hires after 2012, a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within the timeframe specified in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Complete Annual Orthopedic education requirements upon hire and annually thereafter, as outlined in the Orthopedic Program(s) Education plan.
- Previous PACU, ER, or ICU experience.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year of hire.
- Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- Required certifications and license: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support/CPR), and FL RN (Florida Registered Nurse License).
- Individuals providing care to vulnerable populations must undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
