About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Radiology Department at Texas Health Plano is responsible for providing high-quality patient care. This role involves performing a variety of exams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The department is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Trauma Center, and Advanced Cardiac facility, handling approximately 120 exams daily. The RN will collaborate with a dedicated Radiologist Group and maintain strong relationships with the Emergency Department and other nursing staff. Texas Health Plano is a 386-bed, full-service hospital serving North Texas, recognized for its specialized care in emergency medicine, trauma, cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and more. It is a Level II Trauma Facility with Level IV NICU and Maternal facility designations and a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program. The hospital is a four-time Magnet-designated facility with numerous accreditations and awards, including an on-site childcare center.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days required
- Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign exchange equivalency required
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- One year of Radiology experience preferred
- Experience in ICU or ED with conscious sedation highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
