This role involves managing post-thoracic surgery patients, including those who have undergone lobectomy, pneumonectomy, VATS procedures, and chest wall surgeries. The nurse will work closely with the thoracic surgery team and pulmonary interventionalists, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, such as lung cancer. Key responsibilities include monitoring and managing chest tubes, pleural drains, and post-operative complications, as well as assessing and responding to respiratory compromise using various support methods like oxygen therapy, high-flow devices, and non-invasive ventilation.
