About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services, part of Aiken Regional Medical Centers, has been providing hope for individuals suffering from emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as alcohol and substance use disorders, since 1991. This 62-bed facility, located on the Aiken Regional Medical Centers campus, is accredited by The Joint Commission. The facility offers comprehensive, individualized treatment services delivered by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, clinicians, mental health technicians, and recreation therapists dedicated to high-quality care. Aiken Regional Medical Centers, a 273-bed acute care facility in Aiken, South Carolina, has been serving the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities since 1917. It has been recognized by the American Heart Association for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure, stroke, and coronary artery disease. The hospital provides a wide range of healthcare services, including behavioral health, emergency medical care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity services, rehabilitation services, imaging, and wound care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse and having South Carolina state licensure for that field.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one year experience in mental health setting preferred.
  • New Graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Assessment and referral experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs nursing assessments.
  • Performs group psychoeducation.
  • Performs family psychoeducation.
  • Performs individual psychoeducation.
  • Develops nursing related programs as appropriate.
  • Performs initial precertification and concurrent reviews on PHP patients.
  • Tracks daily attendance, admissions and discharges of PHP patients.
  • Participates in the development of treatment plans.
  • Reviews and updates treatment plans as needed.
  • Interacts with community agencies to establish mental health network.
  • Charts every session.
  • Participates in program development meetings.
  • Communicates and coordinates services with supervisor.
  • Assists the Assessment and UR department as needed and able (e.g. answering RESPOND calls).
  • Compiles and maintains accurate patient charts.
  • Reviews charts for physician orders and assures orders are completed as necessary.
