About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse working evening shifts on a five-day schedule with eight-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week. The role is within a behavioral health environment providing psychiatric nursing care to a diverse patient population including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The RN will work as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team focused on maintaining patient safety, providing therapeutic support, and assisting with stabilization and treatment plans for individuals experiencing mental health conditions. The position involves maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive care environment while managing a moderate patient assignment. Nursing staff are supported by additional assistive personnel to ensure efficient care delivery and patient safety. The role requires strong communication skills, emotional awareness, and the ability to work effectively within a psychiatric care setting.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to manage multiple patients while maintaining therapeutic communication and safety awareness in a mental health setting.
  • Strong observational skills.
  • Critical thinking abilities.
  • Capacity to respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional changes in patients.
  • Effective teamwork with physicians, therapists, and support staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, particularly Epic.
