About The Position

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Behavioral Health Department. This role is vital in making communities healthier by providing exceptional care. The department fosters a culture of teamwork and effective communication, serving patients from Neonatal to Geriatric. The hospital is a 75-bed acute care facility with over 18 years of experience, committed to high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience preferred
  • ASLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
  • Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
