About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position in Progressive Care (PCU). The role requires the nurse to work 12-hour day shifts from 7 AM to 7:30 PM for a 13-week assignment. The position requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and be on call. The nurse must possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles, the ability to provide quality patient care, and assess patient needs including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects. The role also requires recognizing safety issues for self and others, assessing and implementing safe patient handling techniques (e.g., lifts), functioning well in stressful situations, and demonstrating good problem-solving skills. Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation abilities are essential. The nurse may be required to serve as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are necessary.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current NY RN license.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required.
• NIH required.
• Must have completed at least one successful traveler assignment.
• New travelers will not be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Current critical care experience preferred.
• PALS preferred.
