About The Position

Regions Hospital is looking for exceptional, patient focused Registered Nurses to join our Medical Progressive Care team and make a difference for our patients and our community. We are known for saving lives in our Level I Trauma Center, and our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient. As a nursing professional you will be empowered to manage your clinical practice and working environment through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence-based nursing practice. At Regions, we support nurses with an individualized orientation including Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program which is a nurse residency structured program to support learning, role transition, and retention of nurses. All new hire registered nurses at Regions Hospital will be automatically enrolled. The Medical Progressive Care unit is a 16-bed unit that has a population of patients with medical diagnoses requiring progressive care services such as respiratory failure, sepsis/shock states, gastrointestinal complications, liver failure, renal failure, pharmacologic overdoses, alcohol withdrawal, psychiatric and endocrine emergencies. As a Registered Nurse in the Medical Progressive Care unit, you will be responsible for performing patient centered, safe, effective, equitable, timely and efficient patient care based on the specific needs of the patient populations served, communicating effectively with patients, families, and the Care Team, participating as an effective unit and nursing department member and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other health care team members across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing and 1 year of RN experience
  • Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
  • CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

Nice To Haves

  • BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire
  • One year of acute care RN experience is strongly preferred
