South Sound Behavioral Hospital is seeking a motivated, dependable, and dedicated Registered Nurse Program Director (RN) to provide exceptional direct care and support to patients and staff. This role ensures the coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with established standards of care, mental health practice, and hospital policy. The RN Program Director assists in contributing to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational, and Performance & Improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff. This position functions as the primary auditor for all new admissions and works with the CNO and nursing staff to ensure the completion, timeliness, and accuracy of nursing charting. The role involves actively engaging in the healthcare team, offering direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians, and ensuring staff deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice. The RN Program Director continuously assesses patients' physical and psychological conditions, utilizes the nursing process aligned with SSBH's values, and upholds a safe therapeutic environment. Collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team is key, contributing to tailored goals and interventions. The role also includes leading auditing and performance improvement measures related to charting, monitoring medical records for documentation and effectiveness, assuring completion of Night Audit deficiencies, and educating staff on documentation standards. Responsibility extends to unit compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and regulatory standards, as well as patient rights. The RN Program Director monitors compliance with unit/group schedules, tracks group attendance, participates in performance improvement activities, and collaborates with case management for timely, quality care. Assistance with recruitment and interviewing is also part of the role.
