About The Position
The Registered Nurse PRN position is for the 2nd Shift in the Emergency Department at Baptist Health Corbin. The Emergency Department (ED) is a Level IV Trauma Designated unit with 28 beds, providing comprehensive, around-the-clock care to patients of all ages. The department handles a wide range of conditions, from non-emergent complaints to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. It features a dedicated split-flow area for efficient evaluation and treatment of fast-track patients and a behavioral health intake area for safe assessment and management of mental health and behavioral health concerns. The Registered Nurse provides compassionate, evidence-based nursing care through assessment, treatment, care coordination, patient and family education, and individualized care planning, while also supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges. The role emphasizes professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. The Registered Nurse is expected to be an exemplar of compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy, honoring nursing as a distinct discipline.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
- Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university
- Basic life support certification (applicants have 30 days from hire date to provide completion if not already held)
- ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment
Responsibilities
