About The Position

Concentra is looking for a PRN (as-needed) Registered Nurse for our client's onsite clinic in Ormond Beach, FL! This role assists with patient care, physical examinations, ancillary tests, first aid, and performs a variety of administrative duties. The Registered Nurse will provide occupational health services including injury assessment, first aid care, accurate medical documentation, and vaccination review and administration. They will collaborate with onsite leadership and the medical director to provide complete care and support safe return to work practices. The role also involves performing urine drug screens with proper chain of custody, maintaining exam rooms and supplies, serving as a health and wellness resource, and assisting in medical record maintenance while safeguarding confidentiality. Additionally, the nurse will perform front office clerical duties, dispense medications as directed, and maintain/operate clinical equipment. Ancillary testing such as PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, and blood draws will also be performed. The position emphasizes a service mentality, attention to detail, sense of urgency, flexibility, initiative, communication, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Current registration/license in the state where employed
  • Successful completion of UDS, BAT, PFT, FIT, certification
  • 1 year of demonstrated experience in occupational health nursing or related field

  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical operations
  • Demonstrated ability to train medical assistants under the direction of the Center Medical Director
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated willingness to participate in Continuing Medical Education

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational health services including injury assessment, first aid care, accurate medical documentation, vaccination review and administration.
  • Collaborate with onsite leadership and medical director to provide complete care and support safe return to work practices.
  • Performs urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensures preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory.
  • Maintains exam rooms, lab area and treatment rooms clean and stocked, maintaining inventory of supplies and re-orders as needed.
  • Serve as a health and wellness resource to employees.
  • Assists in medical record maintenance by keeping health, administrative, and program records onsite, safeguarding confidentiality of employee health information.
  • Performs front office clerical duties such as answering telephones, check-in, check-out and record processing.
  • Dispenses medications as directed by practitioner and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Maintains and operates all clinical equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures.
  • Performs ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the Center Medical Director (PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, blood draws) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
