About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse PRN for the Perioperative Evaluation Clinic (VPEC) in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will effectively communicate patient information to the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. Professional growth is encouraged through continuous learning. This position is PRN (As Needed), typically working 2-3 days per week. The role requires collaboration in care planning, coordination, and implementation, anticipating patient needs across the continuum. It involves analyzing patient information to determine nursing diagnoses and utilizing the nursing process to evaluate progress and apply interventions. The nurse will also employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • 1 year of experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

  • Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
  • Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
