About The Position

Aptive Resources is hiring Primary Care Registered Nurses to provide direct and indirect nursing care to Veterans at the Dayton VA Medical Center. This is a full-time contract position with a contract period from 8/1/2026 to 7/31/2027, with an option for an additional year. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, and does not include federal holidays.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Current, active Ohio RN license
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS required if assigned to specialty clinic
• Minimum 1 year direct patient care within the last 3 years
• Must pass background investigation (Tier 1/Low Risk)
• PIV card required
• Must complete required VA mandatory training prior to start

Nice To Haves

• VA experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and develop nursing care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies; document in EHR
• Carry out and document physician orders
• Monitor vital signs, interpret cardiac rhythms, respond to emergencies
• Educate patients and families on medications, procedures, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary PACT team
• Participate in daily huddles, weekly calls, and quality improvement activities
