About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Primary Care Clinic in Lebanon, Tennessee. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will collaborate with a healthcare team, including physicians and residents, to establish patient goals and evaluate progress. The position requires strong communication, time management, prioritization, flexibility, and autonomy, with the ability to engage in telephone communication and maintain clinic skills for onsite duties such as patient intake, education, administering injections and vaccines, and performing EKGs.   • LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

  • Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
  • Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information relevant to patient care and management to determine nursing diagnoses and implementing evidence-based interventions with triage protocols.
  • Engages in telephone communication and requires time management, prioritization, flexibility, and autonomy.
  • Maintains clinic skills for performance when onsite, can provide onsite intake, patient and family education, nurse visits, injections, vaccine and medication administration, service recovery, clinical primary care services, ekgs, etc.
  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
