About The Position

As a Registered Nurse in Pre-Procedure Testing at Penrose Hospital, you will manage comprehensive care coordination to ensure patients are optimized and cleared for surgery. Your responsibilities include performing EKG diagnostics and blood draws, conducting chart reviews, and providing thorough telephonic patient education. You will collaborate closely with anesthesia providers to manage complex cases and facilitate all necessary pre-surgical testing and clearances. Supporting a high-functioning surgical department with 18 pre-op beds and 17 PACU bays, you will serve as a critical point of contact to ensure all clinical requirements and safety protocols are met prior to admission. Requirements

Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
RN License in state of employment
Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly

Nice To Haves

Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Previous experience in procedural areas highly preferred
Strong clinical background required
One (1) year experience

Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV’s, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner.
